    Auto Tailgate stopped working

I had someone run into the back of me. Have had the rear bumper replaced.
Foot sensor to open the tailgate was working after the accident. Once they replaced the bumper it has stopped working.
Does anyone know where these sensors are located. Could it be that when they have moved them into the new bumper, the sensor have been put in upside down.
Or could it be something to do with VW tow bar, which I think deactivates it when attached?
I don't think it is this, as it was working before they replaced the bumper.

VW recon $2000 to replace the parts, it was working after the accident.
It is only the foot sensor that is not working.

I have the VW tower, and auto tailgate works fine.

What I have noticed however, is that since having the tower fitted (VW were unable to supply prior to vehicle delivery), the "foot swipe" has become a lot more finicky. You have to be in exactly the right place, making exactly the right motion with your foot/leg. Off the mark by a smudge? Doesn't work.
    Cheers

The sensor should be fit under the bumper I think.

Will that be the case of your repairer forgot to move the sensor to your new bumper?

Or maybe they didn't activate the function.

Is your repairer a VW approved one?

Ask your VW dealer for advices for sure.

Find out what exactly causing the problem.

Go back to repair place, if no luck call your insurer, lifetime repairs are what most insurance companies advertise.

    MK5 Jetta Turbo - Sold
    MK5 Jetta 2.Slow - Until it dies.

All working again, the repairer removed bumper, disconnected the sensor and unit, re-installed and they are working again.
