I am getting my vehicle checked on VAG Com this week to see if it can be paddle shift enabled.
Sorry for not replying but I can get genuine OEM brand new for around the price you are asking from 2 European sites but may still be interested if they turn out to be unsuitable.

No probs, see how you go.

If the wheel listed on the euro sites is defiantly the paddle shift wheel, then thats cheap. Would you mind sharing the link for me to check out?

Just checked it out, great site and good prices.

I think the wheel alone comes to about $350 with post from them, if you're interested in mine feel free to make a offer given it's second hand.

Thanks - I managed to get my VW dealer to check if I had option in VAGCOM to switch to paddles yesterday. They said they couldn't find the option. I have step by step screen shots of which options to check in VAGCOM so am visiting a non VW dealer specialist on Friday to see if I can do it.

I bought a second hand GTI wheel from a wrecker. Then I bought a suitable airbag to fit to that size of wheel.
The change to my 2011 B7 took about 15 minutes. The software change was a toggle to enable the ability to use the paddles.

I then went to Alibaba to buy a "R" wheel clip to replace the "GTI" one. I think the default software should have the paddle shift setting available as what was in mine.
    Golf mk7 parts for sale.
