    Help with R36 part number

Unfortunately I hit a small animal on the freeway last night and there is some damage to my R36.

The brushed metal look insert of the front grill/bumper assembly has a crack in it at the bottom. Can anyone help me out with a part number or where I might be able to look it up?

I know the feeling. You cant buy (as far as I am aware) the grille on its own. You have to buy the whole centre section on its own.

Yup. I recently had to buy a whole new grille because the dome surround for the badge was cracked. I bought it from ebay for around US$380. I would advise against it that though because the quality was not so great and it was damaged in transit. Plus the chrome is wrong. It was a cheap bright chrome instead of the matt finish despite being advertised as "OEM". Honestly for the small amount of damage that you have I would just leave it as is...

I would tend to agree. Unfortunately my damage was more substantial then that so had to shop around for a replacement. Buying a new one from vw was right out of the question when i heard the price so end up shopping around for a 2nd hand one.

As per above, it's one complete centre section.

They retail for roughly $1,100 from VW.

Was quoted over $1,200 from VW. I wouldn't bother except I was travelling for work and they will pay the excess and there is no change to my rating so why not.

In that case, go for it.

Maybe ask for the old one back, and offload to someone else who might parts from it?
