The Autoglym Surface Detailing Clay Kit has been developed to remove all bonded contaminants from your paintwork and is an essential step to achieving a deeper, lasting shine. Bonded contaminants include road grime, tar, tree sap, over spray and other paint contaminants which cannot be washed away with regular shampoo. Instead, they require clay to safely remove them from your paintwork.

The Autoglym Surface Detailing Kit contains Autoglym Rapid Detailer, Autoglym Super Resin Polish, Surface Detailing Clay, an Autoglym Perfect Polishing Cloth and a microfibre cloth.

Place your hand inside of a plastic bag and run it over the paint surface. The plastic will amplify the amount of contamination.

Spray the supplied Rapid Detailer onto your work surface to provide essential lubrication. Tear off a small piece of the Surface Detailing Clay and press it until it becomes flat.

Gently move it over the paintwork using a linear action, ensuring there is enough Rapid Detailer on the surface at all times for adequate lubrication. If you drop the Surface Detailing Clay on the ground or it becomes overloaded with dirt and grime, discard it and use a new piece.

Once the area is smooth, wipe away any excess Rapid Detailer with the blue microfibre cloth.

Repeat the plastic bag test to make sure you have removed all contaminants. Your paintwork is contaminant-free when you can no longer feel roughness through the plastic – your paintwork will feel smooth like silk on your skin.

As your clay piece becomes dirty, remember to knead it and fold it back onto itself to present a fresh surface to continue cleaning your car.

Once your car is fully clayed, it is ready for Autoglym High Definition Cleanser.

The Autoglym Surface Detailing Clay Kit can also be employed as preparation to repairing spider web scratches and lightly damaged paintwork. After you have clayed your car, you can continue the repair process using Autoglym Super Resin Polish or Autoglym Paint Renovator.
