    Strut top bearing replacement

    Help required.
Trying to replace the strut top bearing on 2011 CC. Got the strut undone top and bottom, sway bar link disconnected from strut and have spread the bottom strut mount.
The strut is loose and I can lift it about 20mm out of the bottom mount but then run out of room in the strut turret to lift any further.
I have tried putting spring compressors on but it doesn't seem to improve the situation.

I've separated the strut mount / hub assembly from the lower control arm completely by removing the 3 nuts of the ball joint.
The problem is that when I try to flex the hub assembly down, the driveshaft hits on the sway bar.
I am starting to think that the driveshaft needs to be pulled out of the hub?

Thanks Umai. That's what I was afraid of.... I don't have a triple square socket to fit that driveshaft bolt....

    It's just a normal 12 point/double square socket.
