Same with Milltek; IPE; XForce; etc etc
I guess the saying "you get what you pay for" is important to remember.

I contacted a place locally that is an armytrix specialist. Let's see what they quote me.

I have a 90tsi straight pipe from the cat back. Sounds absolutely fantastic! It does drone a little on the free way, not much, but the dsg pops and burbles more than make up for it!

I'm after a valved option. I will have a new born soon and don't want it screaming all the time.

Okay so I called every known top exhaust places in sydney area and all.say there is nothing available for the tsi. Pretty pissed. All I get told is to do a res delete but I want a valved option due to being a family car. Sucks!

So finally I got the resonator removed.

Myth 1. The resonator is just a straight through pipe. There are no holes it just dampens the noise.

My take on it is that this is incorrect partially. The pipe is perpetrated inside and yes it dampens the noise but with the straight through pipe that's been welded I'm not sure if it's going to change any fuel usage or anything else. Time will show.

Myth 2. It pips and crackles like the gti or r models.

No it doesn't. It does pop when shifting gears but not as loud or aggressive as the gti or r models

Myth 3. You'll get some drone

Well I tried the entire rev range and I haven't had any drone at all.

Myth 4. It gets loud and to some it may be too loud.

Not unless you remove the muffler as well. At idle it sounds stock with a slight note. The way I can describe it is its like a stock exhaust with a deeper tone.

Sorry guys it's just an idle video as I don't have anyone to record me as I rev it. I will do one with the dslr tomorrow at a safe spot without losing my license
