Want a Mk5 GTI

I'm very keen to get a Mk5 GTI though I'd love the Mk6 I can't justify the price right now. I'm not a big fan of leather but I wouldn't consider it a deal breaker if I saw a model with it. What are the most useable and desireable options to look out for in a used 2008+ model?

I'm a recnet GTi owner '08 MKV & I loooove it!
Personally, I like the interior of the 5 better. Just for the sake of having the "latest & greatest"...I'd save the balance & treat yourself to a holiday or something....

Anyhow - I bought mine with these options: mocca heated leather seats (which look fantastic against the TORNADO RED), sunroof, xenons, parking sensors, DSG...
For me I WANTED a SUNROOF on a RED GTi : the others are luxuries which I've grown really accustomed to very quickly!

I was at the right place at the right time!

xenons... i think is the must have.

I agree, my current ride has xenons and I'm used to them so that's a must have. Parking sensors would be nice. I can't see the advantage of a sunroof except when it's not summer and then I'd just have the windows down. I have a portable Bluetooth unit and that does me - I don't get that many calls when driving or make many either. Was MDI available on the Mk5s?

I am currently selling my golf GTI mkV but it is a 2006 my 07 model. Great thing with this car is it still have just under 1 full year left of manufactories warranty not dealership warranty and this is transferable to you. As other dubber on here will tell you this warranty is worth its weight in gold.

It does have leather and satnav unit. no sunroof and no xenons. Leather is a 1 off red. Price of course is always negotiable. here is a link call or pm me if interested.

you could save yourself a bit of cash and get a Jetta? I picked up a Jetta with the GTI engine for only $18k with 70k on the clock. Add a few grand for some mods (Bluefin, Anti-lift kit etc) and you're probably not far behind a GTI and a lot richer!
