I would imagine that you'd need to wire up the paddle function to your gearbox, not just code for it.
Hi Folks, I've sourced a Volkswagen Passat R36 Multi-Function Steering Wheel, in the hope it'll work on my 2006 Mk5 Jetta - which also has a MFSW. I just want to have the paddles on the wheel - I understand I'll need someone to do coding, but I read that you can't make a MK6 wheel work on MK5 cars and I wanted to be sure this one would be fine.... Appreciate any pointers!
Chris

MKV Golf 2.0 TDI DSG Sportline. Just nice.
Right.... Thanks. Any idea if that'd work though? Read plenty on it being done from a Golf GTI/R32 to Jetta - but not from a Passat...
I have Mk6 GTI Steering wheel with paddles in my Mk5 Jetta ... No problems.
Might be differnet story with Passat Wheel as themounting spline might have differnet number of teeth or diameter size.

what?! the mk6 wheel works? but the layout on the wheel is completely different. do your buttons still work?!
