Is anyone able to help me with this.
Hi,
Where do I find aftermarket parts for VW jetta tdi 2.0.
I have to replace compressor and don't want pay $2250 to do it VW.
Can someone confirm what the part number is for this.
The car has climate control and the only aftermarket compressors I can find are in US. Im not sure these are for car with climate control.
I called VW and the idiot in parts said 'Im not going to give you the part no. and have you go and search for a cheaper price online.'
cheers

Thanks for this. Searched Google for this code and I get 3 pages in german.
I managed to get this code from another VW dealer in Brisbane 1K0820808DX. Searching This gets me a lot of units in the states. My confusion though is that the Australian model has dual zone climate control and the American model doesn't seem to have that. Do they use the same compressor.
cheers matt
I got this part no from a quote system we use at work, so I hope it is correct.
Weird thing was that the TDI and FSI compressors were the same.

No reason the diesel should use a different compressor — all the engine does is turn the pulley.
Dual zone probably uses the same compressor — the difference would be in the gas circuit and valving.
Mk V's in general were plagued with A/C failures to the extent that VW went to another manufacturer late in the model run — this thread may be of interest, though not much help : Volkswagen Golf, GTI, Passat, Jetta and Eos Air Conditioner Compressor Failure | my-gti.com
I had my 2007 Golf done last week following a compressor failure. I got it done by my preferred crash repairers for $1200 including 12month warranty on the work. Shop around and find a VW specialist or a crash repairer you trust and you'll get it way cheaper than the VW dealer.
