I would imagine the tool would significantly reduce the mess if us3d correctly.

You are correct, it is very slow.

Note the oil wasn't warm. Perhaps I'll warm up the engine before draining the oil so it flows faster.

Update.

Warmed up engine.

Used the oil drain tool for the same amount of time as I drained the sump.

Worked perfectly. Not a drop of oil on the ground or pipework.

Should have bought one much earlier.
