I need north American fog surrounds too, very expensive though, you have to buy the surrounds and chrome strip separately.
Here's my Golf with Jetta front (was GTI front):

I've spent the last few hours googling and searching the forums (some old threads but nothing specific to my query). Does anyone know how the different Mk5 lower left & right front grills are denoted? Is it by year, by European v N.American v Australian, by model? I can't seem to find any information with certainty.
These are the 3 I've found so far (R32 notwithstanding).
1. Neat & Tidy
2. Extends across the bumper towards the middle
3. The Australian (and I guess Chinese)?: Chrome and top extends across towards the middle, lower grills don't.
thanks in advance.

Good grief took me a while to wake up what you were on about spiff
No.2 looks aftermarket to me.
I think No.1 maybe North American specific and No.3 is the Global (Euro) Jetta/Sagitar.

Pretty sure #2 is GT/GTI Front Bumper with R-Line grilles. Unfortunately the standard Jetta and GT/GTI front grilles aren't interchangeable due to be a slightly different shape and size.
Can't help with the rest sorry.

Thanks Paul..just the lower fog grills then...I have the Gti honeycomb for the top where the badge is..just wanting a clean look for the lowers where the fogs are without buying a whole new bumper. Cheers.
#2 is definitely the R-line grilles. They are an OEM part offered on the R-line option pack in Germany.
They are available from places like ecsTuning &c..
The full front kit is:
Fog grills
Satin chrome centre bumper
Chrome upper centre grille slats
Satin chrome trim to lower centre grille
You can get them with or without fogs.
The one in your picture has the top edges of the part colour coded.
That horizontal strip is black as standard.

All Mk5 Jetta's and GTI's in North America have the same bumper (similar to what we have on the Mk5 GTI without the side markers with the grills being the only thing that separates them apart.
In Australia, we have the Euro bumpers which deletes the side markers, and unfortunately means we get the Euro specific side grills which means we can't install GTI... Or even Golf R Line grills onto our cars. And trust me, I've tried.
I wanted to delete the chrome completely on the front of my 2010 2.0TSI so I had the spray shop paint over it:

maca, that looks neat! do you have any threads with your car build or mods? i'd love to see more angles of that..maybe a close-up, and one from afar head-on. i've been thinking quite a bit about painting over that chrome on the lower grills..but keeping the U shaped ones.
i have the gti honeycomb upper (the entire section with the vw emblem) fitted on my jetta. i didn't bother with the lower grills because i'm modifying it, but i can see what you mean..it looks like a completely different bumper.
