    Bora bora bora !

    Hi
I'm new to bora, I picked up a Bora 4 motion the other week, so far pretty happy. , love the sound it makes.

Few thing need attention, but a car of this age should have some minor things to occupy the weekends.

One thing I'm not sure on is suspension changes. It's a bit sloppy, this will not do. Been looking at the threads and still no idea which way to go. I only want to drop it 20-35mm max from stock.

    Coilovers or sports suspension?
Oh yes budget is a big factor

Ps I still have my mk2 1.8t project but for now Bora is my obsession

I put some bc (br) racing coilsovers in mine(in May). they drop the rear abit, with only 0, 6, 12mm spacers, on 12mm spacers I had about 30mm drop. The fronts have alot of adjustment. It was one of my recent threads, probably best to keep it there. Would definitely recommend doing the front strut mounts too, although I would get the nolathane strut mounts if doing again. You still need the bearing from VW they were cheap though. I paid $1400 I think it was, VW wanted $1100 for stock struts and shocks. I figured the springs were probably abit tired and wanted the drop, so went with the coils.

I did have to change the swaybar conlinks though, link connection is about 20mm lower on the BRs.

I second BC Bracing BR's. I've been running a set on my 4mo for about a year and a half and they are great. Softest setting has a nice ride for getting around daily, but dial them to the firmest and they are rock hard.

They have lost the art of design!

I think the mk2 golf and the bora have the best lines!

    Maybe I’m just old school
