    T6 Multivan Service Options

I am seeking your expert opinions.

Situation: T6 Multivan due for 45k service. Purchased it new last year.

I have 3 parts to ask about:

    Part A-
    Local "VW Dealer": $558.
    Local "Euro Specialist": $299.

For the life of me, I cannot find a definitive 'service schedule' for these things that clearly explains what will/should be serviced. The old days of when the owners manual said air filter due at XX, oil due at XX, fuel due at XX appear to have gone.

VW say Oil Filter/Oil/Air filter will be replaced and 'everything checked'.
Local specialist says Oil/oil filter and they'll do full computer diagnostic and replace what needs to be serviced and if any repairs are required they'll contact with a quote first (better not need repairs!)

    Part B-
Has anyone had their new VW regularly serviced by an independent mechanic and later been required to claim warranty? Admittedly, the only reason i've returned to the dealer is the fact that I assume it'll be easier for warranty claims... not sure how accurate that assumption is though.

    Part C-
Anyone recommend any good service shops around the Springwood (Qld) area?

    Thanks for your help!

When I had coolant issues earlier this year, I used K & G Automotive 1/20 Ferguson St, Underwood on recommendation. The issue wasn't the pump as suspected but a radiator that leaked through a split not active on the road but only when pressures rose after a trip. During the rectification, which they carried out satisfactorily quickly considering new radiators reside in Sydney, we discussed certain things as the vehicle is around the 140K mark:

    (1) No, the coolant pump isn't leaking so it won't be replaced.
    (2) Can I replace your wiper blades?
    (3) The dipstick tube is cracked & yes, you'll be able to work out a fix yourself. VW only supplies a whole unit & costs aren't all that flash.
    (4) The left lower control arm bushing is starting to crack & will need replacing next service.
    (5) The left drive shaft is OK

Never used them before, but I plan to stay with them.

Air filter is due at 45K.

If the independent can't service it as per the schedule, what's the point?

Thanks for the quick replies, I'll contact K&G and throw them into the mix.

Umai Naa- hence my problem! I think it was more the fact the lady on reception phone didn't get what I was asking and only knew the set script (not having a dig at her).

....and sometimes schedule is not very clear. Oh, it may appear clear but some items may need servicing more often and some less.
