T4 Caravelle has locked itself

Hi All,

Any ideas about getting a T4 Caravelle open without a spare key.
Bought a used 2003 model and the PO only sent me 1 key.The car has a stuffed alternator and the mechanic was trying to jump start it,was outside the car momentarily and the car has locked itself.
Other than getting a locksmith how else can I get in?

I was able to open my sons T4 by using the plastic tape that is often used to strap cartons to a pallet or similar . Use a flat lever wrapped in some cloth to lever the top of the door open a small amount , insert a loop of the tape and slide it down to the lock knob . Pull it snugly and then upwards to open , you may have to try a couple of times but it does work .

If the above tape slides off the lock knob you can put a small amount of blutack in the fold so that it grabs the knob better.
