Rear differential oil drain on t5.1

    Hi,

Hopefully ok for a first post, not much info available in the UK on the 4motions and was recommended the Australians were the experts, so here goes

Changed the pre charge pump and filter on my haldex and was going to do rear diff oil too, but cant figure out how to drain it. Can anyone tell me where the oil drain is for the diff?

I've tried removing all the bolts circled green but nothing comes out. If i remove what i assume is the diff fill point I get a little weep of oil, so it's full.

Do you need to pump it out the filler?

Service manual only mentions filling, in the diagram the round plug in between the 2 circled green bolts has the number 2 and an arrow pointing to it, but gives no details.

It's a 2012 model 2L bi-turbo dsg if it makes any difference. Front differential (bevel gear) was easy enough...

    Thanks
    Stu

Is that a hex drain plug that can be seen under the far right green nut?

Unfortunately not, it's just part of the casting, nothing in it other than the hole, i assume in some applications of the housing may have a thread tapped in it or something...
