    LED headlight globe experiences

I have purchased a pair of H7 Narva Ultima LED globes for my 2009 T5 Caravelle.

Has anyone installed LED headlight globes in the enclosed headlight unit, and if so, what are your experiences?

I am concerned about the amount of heat generated and dissipated by the aluminium heatsink and small transformer melting the plastic headlight unit. I have tested a globe and the heatsink is hot to the touch, and the transformer is warm.

I haven't been able to find much on this, and even Narva couldn't give me a definitive answer.

I too am interested (T6 Comfortline) in this topic. The headlights are appalling in these vans.

Blaast- Are these "off road only" bulbs?

I just purchased a cheap 21.5" 8000lm LED light bar from BCF ($40) but im yet to get the confidence to commit to trimming the plastic grill!

They are not approved for road use, but from the testing that I did (one of each globe in each headlight), the LED didn't seem to be brighter or more dazzling than the halogen.

I got these as they seem to be cost efective against the Narva 'performance' halogens that I normally buy.

I haven't used them, I've be thinking about the Phillips LED set for the H4 in my T6

but i did watch a tube video and the heatsink didn't fit well, these Narva's could be ideal.

if you have time, take a few photos to show before and after.

    LED on the left.
It looks bluish, but is actually 'pure' white.

If it's anything like the Redback (?) LED bar I've got you've done your dough. It's rubbish.

An 8000k light will have a lot less light output than a 5500k one Its a scientific fact
