First Multivan Kombi 70 in Australia

    G'day

A few shots from Chullora HQ of one of the first of 20 Multivan Kombi 70 Years in Australia.

4 colour pallettes will come to Australia.

This one is the white over Starlight Blue

More details to follow, but they are all TDI340 with plenty of extra features (Alcantara heated seats, Xenons, special floor etc). Will hit the streets in March. Genuine limited edition - order book closed - what is slated for production is what there is I.e. no more orders can be taken for the factory. Some dealers will have a variety of colours combinations available

    The 4 available are

Candy White / Curcuma Yellow Metallic (9194)

Candy White / Starlight Blue Metallic (9915)

Candy White / Indium Grey Metallic (9916)

Indium Grey Metallic / Deep Black Pearlescent (9077)

The last combination is very special and will also be differentiated by silver highlights (instead of white) in the 18" Disc Alloy Wheels

    Price is $64,990 Drive Away

    Enjoy the first few photos.

Correct - At launch of the T6 there was the Generation Six with the Euro6 TDI450 engine (as remains on the Multivan Highline today). Interestingly the key reason the Euro6 engine was chosen was to launch the new T6 with Radar Cruise Control which is only available on vans with the Euro6 engine.

Also interesting is the decision to not use the Generation Six colour palette on the new Multivan 70 years in the Australian marketplace. Those who have, for example, the Candy White over Cherry Red in their TDI450 Gen 6 will not see it appear on the less expensive Multivan 70.

I love the dual tone colours in these new multivan but being a TDi base unit buyer I can't really get that as an option. Have looked at cost to paint top half or even use vinyl covering, but don't think final product would look that good and plus it is very expensive!

A question why would the Radar Cruise control be only available with the Euro 6 engine .

This is a good question... it is unclear to me and have not found anything regarding tying together the Euro6 to the new Safety systems that were introduced with the T6. It may not be that it is technically impossible, but rather it simply wasnot developed and tested and certified with the Euro5.

Doesn't make much sense why would the Euro 6 engine be so different after all its mainly emissions anyway . Possibility the new radar was fittted to that model as a pre release .
