Brakes squeaking when in reverse. 2011 multivan

    Hi folks,

Anybody know what the above sound means? Seems to be coming from the back brakes and only when reversing.

    Thanks chucky

    Could be out of pads.

Pads and discs could be glazed from getting hot.

Could be a stone caught up in them.

Best thing to do would be to pull a wheel off and have a look.

I encountered this and was given the direction to go harder with my cleaning. Apparently brake dust build up. Good brakes but never encountered that issue before.

Cleaning with a compressor is how I do ours but make sure you wear a decent mask that black stuff is the pits.

I had exactly the same issue on my Multivan when it was new. The dealer was unable to fix it.
It got fixed indirectly when I did disks and pads replacements (with genuine) due to normal wear. Since then, this never came back.
