    I was hoping for a pre 6/76. It's straight, original paint with only cosmetic rust. Interior is in bad shape

    I finally got the car home. I used some spare brake switches to block the rear brake ports off at the MC, then drove it home. You'll see why....
    The car is straight nothwithstanding a couple of minor dings, original paint. It has no rust anywhere except the floor pans which are completely gone. The carpet is actually good as are the door cards. The seats are off with the floor pans. I intended to transplant its better bits into my GTID and the blue/red car but it is worth considering replacing the floorpans. But like with all of these old golfs, they all need new paint....
