    Timing Chain Tensioner 2012 6R

I know this has been asked similarly a few times.

My car has 110,000kms. Well out of warranty. The chain rattles like a bugger occasionally. After a service when there is no oil the thing rattles scary and my mech is reluctant to do an oil change now due to the risk of it jumping a tooth. He doesn't want the job of replacing the tensioner cos its a bitch, and local stealer quoted "about $2K".

Anyone have any cheaper options in Sydney/South Coast area?

Depends how thorough of a job you want done.

You could just do the tensioner, but while it's all apart, you might as well do the chain(s) and guides too. Chances of them being worn are pretty high anyway, as the chains slapping around accelerates the wear on the guides to the point where they will break.
