Angry 2015 Polo 81 TSi hard to start.

My car started, but, would not move forward, as if the brakes were full on ?? It did go forward about a 100 meters after a while and then locked up again !! After a long think I switched off the engine, locked the car, waited a few minutes, got in and started the car. Started as normal and continues to perform correctly. Went to VW and explained my issue, told to buy a new key fob battery to fix the problem. No problems since Any comments on this ? So, owners beware !! 3 years for a fob battery change ?? My wife's Mazda 2 has been good since 2003 cya

A battery life of 3 years is interesting, my wife's Mk6 Golf lasted until we traded it in after 5 years. Newer generations of key fobs do a lot more work than the older ones, talking to the chassis computer system, disarming anti theft systems etc. So the batteries don't last as long. My M3 key is 22+ years old but it doesn't do much, just infrared lock/unlock.

    Cheers
