    312mm Brakes and 16" Wheels.

Found a set of Porsche 4 Pot Brembo Calipers ideal for a nice 312mm upgrade and they're very well priced even including adapters. My question is can I do this and stick with 16's or am I gonna have to find some bigger wheels too?

Then I guess my second question is - once I've got calipers, adapters, discs and pads - what else is required to upgrade the GTI's stock brakes to the Brembo's - do I need any other parts either OEM or Aftermarket? I know the (OBE or ABE) calipers on our Polos aren't as easy to upgrade compared to the MK4 GTIs?

And my third question would be - is it possible to then put the stock front brake setup on the back soley for aesthetic purposes? I've had 312's before on my MK1 Fabia VRS and it makes the rears look so tiny!

    Cheers Guys

312s fit fine under a 16, but it's gonna be the caliper that will take some figuring out, both in diameter AND width.

Can let you know in a week or two if someone doesn't buy my wheels first lol.

I know the Oz's I have and the factory Polo GTI wheels only just clear the Audi TT Calipers, not sure on the Boxster calipers.

It will ultimately depend on your wheel offset and spoke design. The safest thing to do is print off a template from someone like ECS of the boxter calipers and do some measuring before going ahead. The 16" wheel diameter is fine with 312mm rotors, it's just the caliper clearance you have to worry about.

And sorry no go for swapping the front polo brakes to the rear. Try the Audi TT caliper and 256mm ventilated rotor upgrade for ultimate stoppies and looks!

nothing to do with offset or dia of the wheel, all comes down to the design of the wheel. while most 16s will fit, not all, some aftermarket wheels have strange shaped barrels that make the inside smaller...
most OEM wheels should clear (bora 4mo came with 16s in a few designs that cleared)
dunno how different the porsche callipers are though

In the for sale section OR on EBAY i have a set of VW Golf GTI front brake kit which will be a great upgrade for the Polo GTIs.
Includes; Calipers, Rotors, Lines, FERODO DS2500 Pads (Pads have 7mm left from 10mm being new)...

I'm not aware that Mk5 brakes would easily transfer to a Polo.
    Do you know otherwise?
