Polo - coilovers and wheels.... whos done it??

    Hi all,
looking at a new daily for my 100km round trip to uni.
So obviously after something cheap to run.
Good 98 Polo has popped up.

Now I like to play with cars, just wondering who has put coilovers (or lowered) suspension on their polo?
Where did you source your coilovers from??

Also, after some flush fitment. What size and offset have people run??
From what I can gather, they are a 4x100 pcd, with a +35-45ish offset?

Yes, Im one of those d-bags hahaha.

    Keen to see.
Golfman on here ran mk3steelies with 50mm drop springs to tighten up the car a bit.
I've been keeping a eye out for some decent coils for my gfs too

most of the coilovers i have found have been based in the uk,
unfortunately all above $1000, so import tax would be terrible.

open to spring and short stroke shock combo, but do have a preference for coilover units.
easier to adjust/make suit different wheels.

Have a look on PSItuning, link in my sig below. Ade does me deals in shipping all the time. There's kits for below 400 quid so they would be under $1000 landed I reckon.

I just cut the springs on mine and fitted 14x6 mags. Just doing that turned the handling from crap to pretty nice. That was 5 years and over 50,000 ks ago.

    Cheers

This was my old 6n lowered on coilovers on 15x6.5j alloys! I had to take the arch liners out and cut a small piece of the front bumper away and there were no issues.

I did have to get a chassis notch however

Paul... I like your style. Out of interest how much did you cut from the springs? ... I'll wield the axe! Bearing in mind I'm also in NSW! :0)

From memory I cut 1 1/2 links or it might have been 2 full circles. All I know is this is how it turned out.

I also took off the restrictive plumbing feeding the carby. Don't know if it went better but I'd like to think it did.
