Just bought a 2012 mk6 gti and have had no issues. Highly recommend it as long as it's got the service history to back it up

Buying advice for MKVI Golf R

    Hi everyone

I'm looking to purchase a 2012 MKVI Golf R and was hoping to get some advice on anything to look out for or take into consideration during an inspection.

Ideally I would also like a mechanical inspection, can anyone recommend any VW Golf R specialists in Sydney?

On a side note it would great to also know some of the factory fitted items like:

    - Original tyres and size, what is now recommended
    - Recommended oil type and brand
    - Space in rear with child seat
    - Can factory optional extras be added eg. reverse rear badge camera?
    - Differences in factory standard and factory optional upgrade audio head units

Hopefully I haven't rambled on too much!

Would be great to hear your feedback from current and previous MK6 Golf R owners The "Second Hand" / "2nd Hand" MK6 Golf Thread

    Thanks in advance.

    Hey guys,
I'm looking at upgrading from my Mk4 GTI to a newer Mk6 GTI. Currently this one has caught my eye:

    https://www.carsales.com.au/private/...-4574707/?Cr=5

It doesn't have the Detroit wheels or a sunroof, but otherwise it looks like it would fit most of my requirements.
I feel like the asking price is too high though. What do you guys think?

^ it looks to be in good condition, but considering its only option are the leather seats id say its a few grand too expensive for what it is. If you could get it for $22-23k then it would be a good buy.

On a somewhat related note, im selling my Mk6 GTI in case you might be interested.

Yes the price on that GTI does look a little high.

Ive had a longing for a high performance V8 sedan for some time, so ive settled on the Lexus IS-F for ultimate reliability, build quality and its fantastic engine. The B7 RS4 is too old/dated and while i love the C63 AMG they are too thirsty and still too expensive.

I just bought a 2012 GTI DSG a month and a half ago. 46 000ks, no sunroof but has the Detroits and I paid $24 000 even from a dealer drive away. Based on the ones I looked at around the same were a few grand cheaper privately, but after paying stamp duty + rego etc I would have came out the same and this comes with at least some kind of warranty included

    Happy hunting mate!

    Hey guys

Looking at getting this 2013 118TSI. Does anyone have any opinion on it? Seems like a good price - private seller.
