    Great post Lucas_R!!! Brake dust doesn't bother me too much, I'm more interested in the braking performance of these pads. Keep us posted!

    Thanks for the post. I'm sure the brake dust will eventually drive me nuts so this could be helpful.

    I think many people wouldnt want to put 'DIY' and 'brakes' in the same sentence.. so kudos for pulling this off!

    DIY + Brakes = easy if you have a few basic tools and some basic mechanical knowledge

    A quick update for anyone who is interested. See picture below for the brake dust situation (or lack of...) after approx 150km of city/commuting driving this week. As you can see the brake dust is essentially non existent. With the old pads, the wheels would have had a definite hue of black dust on them after driving this distance.

    Happy to report that the pads feel fantastic and braking power is great. No noises or squeaks etc. Also should point out that these pads have a higher temperature rating (650 degrees) than the stock VW pads so they should perform better if you ever hit the track.

    Cheers Lucas_R, break dust a real negative for me. Was considering what you've done but now convinced it will be done.

    Your pictorial instruction has given us the edge and confidence to go forth and do it.

    By the time mine turns up I will have the spare room full of things to fit. Wife (Supreme Lord) just shakes her head, have been warned many times that she is the ultimate moderator of this forum and may ban me for life. LOL.

    Honestly - the rear pads are an absolute sinch, the fronts a little bit tricky because of that spring clip with the R logo on it is a bit confusing to figure out. I had the whole thing done in about 2.5 hours max (and that included taking photos of the work, washing my wheels and brake calipers while they were off and having a bite to eat).

    Go for it guys, you wont regret it.
