With less than three days to go until the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans race begins, Audi Australia has announced that the 7 Network will broadcast the brand’s dynamic documentary ‘Truth in 24: Next Generation’ on Friday 15 June, 2012.

‘Truth in 24: Next Generation’ chronicles the 2011 Audi Sport racing teams in their attempt to win a record fifth consecutive 24 Hours of Le Mans (the brand’s 10th win). The film gives viewers an unprecedented behind-the-scenes view of the strategies engineers and drivers use as they set out to make history against local favourite, Team Peugeot.

With the 2012 running of the world’s most significant endurance race about to commence, this dynamic documentary will give Australian motorsports fans a perfect ‘warm up’ before Audi takes centre stage with the hybrid-powered R18 e-tron quattro at this year’s 80th anniversary race. Audi’s R18 sportscar is the world’s first LMP1 prototype to combine a highly-efficient TDI engine with a hybrid system. The company will campaign two of these vehicles, plus two ‘normal’ TDI sportscars in the 2012 event.

The 60 minute documentary will screen in the five major capital cities on digital channel ‘7 Mate’ from 5.30 – 6.30pm on Friday 15 June, followed by re-runs on 7 Digital from 1.00 – 2.00pm on Sunday 17 June 2012, with bonus website coverage including video pre-rolls and bespoke editorial content across Yahoo 7 digital platforms.

Audi TV (www.audiliveracing.com) will feature live streaming of the Le Mans race (with cameras onboard the Audi R18 e-tron quattro, and the Audi R18 ultra). Additionally, there will be highlight compilations streamed every three hours packaging race highlights.

Le Mans will also be a major feature on Audi Australia’s Facebook page throughout the weekend, with posts direct from the race, and regular updates in the lead-up to Le Mans.
