Triple Triumph for Barloworld Volkswagen Mascot at Volkswagen’s 2011 Dealer of the Year Awards

Volkswagen Group Australia has officially crowned Barloworld Volkswagen Mascot as Volkswagen’s National Dealer of the Year 2011 at a gala event in Sydney on Saturday.

Volkswagen Group Australia’s Managing Director, Ms Anke Koeckler, handed over the award to Mr Darryl Pribut, Dealer Principal of Barloworld Volkswagen Mascot, who earlier in the evening had collected the “Commercial Vehicle Dealer of the Year”, and the “Central Region Dealer of the Year” awards.

“Barloworld Volkswagen Mascot performed incredibly well and is a deserving winner,” Ms Koeckler commented on the gala night. “However, recognition should be given to the entire Volkswagen dealer network. 2011 was a busy year for all of us and we would not have been able to achieve the sales figures we did without the commitment and hard work from all of our dealers.”

A total of seven awards including regional categories were announced, with Albany Volkswagen winning its third consecutive “Western Region Dealer of the Year” trophy.

  • National Dealer of the Year – Barloworld Volkswagen Mascot
  • Commercial Vehicle Dealer of the Year – Barloworld Volkswagen Mascot
  • Central Region Dealer of the Year – Barloworld Volkswagen Mascot
  • Northern Region Dealer of the Year – Gold Coast Volkswagen
  • Southern Region Dealer of the Year – Camberwell Volkswagen
  • Western Region Dealer of the Year – Albany Volkswagen
  • Rural Region Dealer of the Year – John Oxley Volkswagen

One Response to “Volkswagen’s 2011 Dealer of the Year Awards”

  1. These awards are touted as the biggest indicator as to which dealer is providing the Volkswagen customer with the ideal “Volkswagen” experience. In reality the award doesn’t go to the dealer that treats its customers the best, it goes to the dealer that met all its sales and service target obligations and then exceeded them greater than any other dealer.

The dealer will no doubt have plastered all over it’s showroom “Dealer Of The Year” to let customers know the are the best choice when it comes to purchasing when in fact most who win these types of awards have a reputation of being quite poor on customer service.

It would be nice to see an AC Nielsen backed dealer of the year for each manufacturer based on facts not the number of vehicles butchered, I mean sold and turfed out the door.
