Rewarding Innovative Ideas

Looking to the future already plays a major role at Audi. And if you’ve got the newest idea for doing just that, Audi is the right place for you. With the Audi Production Award, the Company is honoring visionary ideas in the area of automotive production for the second time. The theme for this year is efficient use of resources in production. The competition is open to interested students, researchers and engineers – and what counts is innovation, creativity and visionary thinking. The winners will be rewarded with prizes totaling 10,000 euros.

Efficient use of resources in production is an important subject in many areas – ranging from the manufacturing of components to logistics and water consumption.

“We have intentionally avoided further limitations. We want to continuously become more efficient in all areas and to keep developing – that’s a priority for us,” said Frank Dreves, Member of the Board of Management for Production at AUDI AG. “In the same way that we view “Vorsprung durch Technik” holistically within the Company, we welcome every suggestion for increasing efficiency here as well.”

The participants are just as diverse as the objectives. Whether you are a team player or lone warrior, a student or professional engineer, a German national or a citizen from another country: the competition is open to all. What ultimately counts is the concept that stands out, that is a breath of fresh air and that has potential. With the second Audi Production Award, the car manufacturer is offering interested students, researchers and engineers the opportunity to develop visionary ideas, and therefore is actively promoting cooperation between science and industry.

It pays to participate: the finalists and winners will be invited for a two-day visit to Ingolstadt. In addition to an enjoyable accompanying program, the guests can also swap experiences, discuss their concepts and establish valuable contacts during an expert workshop with management staff from Audi Production. On top of that, Audi will reward the best ideas with cash prizes totaling 10,000 euros.

All you need to do is get those pencils sharpened and record your ideas on paper. The clever suggestions may fill a maximum of ten pages to be submitted in the form of a concept folder. Submissions will be accepted up to and including September 30, 2011. The team of experts will review the submissions and notify participants via email by October 17, 2011. Additional information about the competition and a template for the concept folder can be downloaded at
